most of the videos were tagged on a windows 7 machine and all were tasted and all worked, there was no k-lite or ffdshow installed and every single video worked, but now there on a xp machine some videos will play and some wont , Im wondering if it has something to do with k-lite or ffdshow or its just that windows 7 has a codec that xp does not because w7 has windows media center

Chances are that windows 7 has more codecs supplied as standard as it's newer than XP.

Barry i think i have it sorted, I'm thinking it was divx all along i,ve just installed it and tested 1 random video from each artist and everyone played ok
