Sure, if squirrley can do the images and backgrounds, that skin should be pretty easy. I'm going to be out of town until next Tuesday, so won't be able to work on much this weekend.
I saw this posted at BYOAC and thought of doing it but I don't really like it. I might work on something similar to it with the colors but I don't like the layout. I first want to work on the JB skin.

Yeah because of the BYOAC post i wanted to clone it... I might try and do it myself today at work usinf those images and M$ Pain... We'll see how it comes off.
looks like xlobby to me, tried it and its crap unless your automating your whole house (then its second to none), the jukebox side of things is rubbish!

Yeah i really don't know why more and more people seem to want these dummed down jukeboxes. People are going for XLOBBY, TOUCHTRAXX and that software because of the dummed down interface. Looks like nipsng on BYOAC is going for this dummed down interface as well. I really just don't see the attraction in not making the most of your music.
I was going to create a clone skin, but i just ain't motivated enough to do it right now... :(

well I guess we should find out why people are using them. Maybe because it really simple to use, not that Freebox isn't easy to use. If you find that out maybe you can make FB like it and get more people.
personally I think that it could be to do with the presentation of the product, it seems they market the product well, the website is nice and clean etc, the product looks pretty rubbish and not a patch on FB, as discussed with Barry i'd be happy to design a website based around a joomla CMS for you, with maybe some help from squirelly and mfacer for the graphics? what do you say guys?
I agree that could be it, we mentioned before the website needs to be tweaked. I will do what I can but I think M is better at PS than I am but let me know and I will see what I can do.
The first thing people see is the website so if it doesn't look good or they can't find what they want they will leave
well let me knockup some stuff on a test site and see how it fairs, we can then add the fancy graphics etc if Barry wants to move forwards

WOOT! A new site design... LOL This one still says V3 in the header. I just don't have enough time...
M, if you get a min could you upload the .psd files to the logo's anywhere, i'd like to have a play about with putting them on a new site

I would be interested in this skin. I am limited to 800 x 600.
Is the Black & Blue skin available in 800 x 600 res?
BnB is only in 1024, that it what my monitor likes best. Also most people use 1024 so that is why I made that size. Sorry but I won't be converting it to 800 but if you know how to use photoshop you can try and do it, I posted all the psd files for everyone to use.

I was thinking, i could probably put a scale function in the skin tool to scale skins down to 800 x 600 let me take a look.

I have added a scale to the skin tool and posted it in the beta section for people to play with. Will see if we can do an 800x600 version of BNB skin

The Touchtunes skin was removed and has not been updated for a long time. The original author wrote hsi own juke software based of the simple juke source i sposted up on BYOAC a while back. This skin ended up not being cloned as there wasn't the interest in it. However i think squirrel and eist were maybe planning a new skin based around the colour scheme of that skin at some point in the future. I really feel for those guys they are the only skin authors we have activly making skins on the site right now. Hopefully some of the other skin authors will come back and update thier skins.

Just getting back to the original topic.
I have taken the image of the main screen and roughly cleaned it up a bit in Paint, just to try and get my head around the skinning program.
I can't work out how to emulate the view that shows a small album cover with the song and artist in test next to it.
Has anyone had a play around with this skin yet? I have wasted a good couple of hours trying to work out how to do work the skin program, and I'm still no the wiser.
Well my thoughts were that you would use a TXT only list as i thought thats how it worked. You could alternatively just shrink the covers down in size if that is what you wanted to do.
What you are suggesting sounds the right way to go.
