Sure Ask Barry for his address and mail him the money, any reason in particular you dont want to use paypal? its easy and its free
Where I am (Australia), we have had scams using Paypal where your card number was taken and use.
I have seen scams where you get fake paypal emails, i even get them but i just delete them. Paypal never email you to request your information and i do everything via the offical paypal site. You could send me a personal cheque but it will take 7 days to clear once it actually arrives and i don't know how paying in a foriegn cheque even works in the bank. the other method would be send cash but it would have to be sterling and i don't think you could get hold of small amounts also there is the risk of it going missing.
