Title: VCD karaoke?
Post by: twarr on February 08, 2008, 01:54:22 AM
hi!

I have tons of mp3+g karaoke files. Unfortunately, the Norwegian karaoke-songs are not made in mp3+g, just in regular VCD. Is it possible rip the VCD, make a .mpg or .avi from the files, and then make theese files only appear in the karaoke-section?

The reason for this, is offcourse that many people want to sing songs from their own country, which is the best at vorspiels :D

I would imagine you would just need to re-encode these as avi / mpg as you have said, put them all in their own folder called Karaoke and then folders within there and then use the import tool to upate the karaoke folder into the database for karaoke?

I havent tested this as I am at work but im 99% sure this is the solution

Yes you can rip them into individual tracks as mpg or avi files and use them that way. You'll have to use the non mp3 tagger to tag them as you would music videos.
