Was looking for information on currently working remote control setups working with Freebox.

I've read some past posts but they were all related to works in progress with no updated information in quite a while.  Please post any info that you believe might be useful.  Thanks.

I am currently in the process of setting up my remote.  I decided I wanted the best range and have the receiver inside the box, so I went with the SnapStream Firefly remote.  It is RF unlike most other remotes that are IR, so it will work through walls and through the cabinet of the jukebox.

I tried using LM Gestion Remote KeyMap, which would send any assigned keystroke to the PC, but for some reason Freebox wouldn't work with it.  The remote would send the keystroke to any other program, like notepad for example, but for some reason not Freebox.  Next I tried EventGhost.  It worked perfectly.  Assigned different keystrokes to different buttons on the remote and then enabled Keymapping in Freebox and assigned the corresponding keys for the events in Freebox.  I was mainly looking to change volume and skip to next track, but you can do much more.  Pretty much run the whole jukebox with the remote.

Let me know if you have any questions about my setup.

My setup is completed for what I wanted.  The only thing I really wanted was the ability to start Freebox with the remote and next track.

I used a MCE remote http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/MCE_Remote#Media_Center_Remotes
I have the middle remote, version 2 without the 4 colored buttons on the bottom.

Newegg still sells them http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16880100851

Eventghost is the program I used. http://www.eventghost.org/wiki/EventGhost:About
