If I use the popular setting in random play options, and often use announcements(wich I use for birthdays), they are played in the random q. the more I have birthdays, the more that birthday song plays automatic.

I need to make sure that announcements do not add to any history. I didn't think they did but from what you are saying it sounds like they might be adding so I will check tonight.
