Title: Playlist error No Song Playing Lockup!
Post by: Pinball on September 16, 2009, 11:28:57 PM
I have a playlist that I loaded and I hit shuffle to listen during dinner.

About 30 min in there is no music...?  I go check and it says no Songs Playing.

I check the queue and there are 43 songs left in the queue.

But the current playing song is BLANK.

I can't skip to next song or anything.  I was stuck there.

Hit ctrl alt Del   and ended E-touch

Loaded the playlist again and did NOT shuffle.

Scrolled down the list and there is one frame blank on the bottom.

When I click in the center of that Blank frame it can highlight and I can hit remove SONG.

---

I used note pad to edit the playlist file and I deleted the last blank line after the last song.  I don't know what it is but there is a blank song at the end of my playlist  LIST.  Is there a way to say end of file or something to edit in there??? ???

I created a new 3 song playlist with the ADD to Play List Button.

I saved it.

I added all to queue.

The first song started playing.

I went to QUEUE and hit shuffle a couple times and it put the blank frame into the next position.

I went out to the MAIN screen and tried to skip to the next song and it just sat there. I could select a new song and hit Play Now and it would play, but when it was done the box just sat there again.  It  would not play the next song in the queue.

It is choking on a BLANK song in the queue.  It looks like when you are creating the playlist, you are putting a blank song at the end of the file.   ???

I'll try to re-create the problem.

I also re-created the error, but mine didnt lock up, it just went into random play mode. I then moved the blank spot down the list to the bottom and the playlist continued.

Randy, by chance do you have the random play 'ticked' on?

So I guess this is a legit bug.

I recreated the error on 3 different playlists.

Turn the 'random' play on to see if it will random play when it gets to the blank song.

Also see if you can move the blank song up and down the queue.

Mine doesnt lock up, but it does allow me to chose another song and play it, leaving the queue with the blank song and the rest of the playlist just sitting there.

I tried it.

Random Play is a work around to keep the box from being DOWN.  But your play list is dead at that point.

Yes you can check off Random Play and then when the BLANK gets to the top of the queue, it will say NO Song Playing, then it will Play a random song, then it goes to no song playing w/ small delay and then another random song.  But the play list wont play until you remove the BLANK song from the top of the queue.

Ok for me, but not ideal if you have the box at an event.

Thanks.

Randy

Barry is aware of the issue and I'm sure he's working on it, unless he doesnt remember last night after his inebriated state!  ;D :D
