Have you seen this?

Not even opened up my juke to see what coin mech I have in mine but I am thinking of getting one of these so I can use coins. Seems to be straightforward if it's a CR3 or CR5 from what it says.

Maybe you can replace the mech with one of these?

http://www.hazelelectronics.co.uk/electronic_coin_mechanisms.htm

They support the ccTalk protocol.

The coin mech needs to support ccTalk, that is why i listed some.

if anyone needs a cheap diy coin mech solution, herondata jukes use a c220b coin mech connected to an excel credit board (from a pool table by the looks of it!), the meter pulse connects to a keyboard emulator via a wire soldered onto a small custom made keypad...works well

That does sound like an idea set up, how much are those excel credit boards and where do you locate them. If you can post up some pics to help wire that up it would be ideal.

Found some info on those credit boards...

http://www.electricalimited.com/images/excel-pc.jpg

There are 2 types, one uses dil switches to set the price of play, and a certain pin on the output side will go +ve to pulse a pc emulator for a keystroke, thus adding a credit.
The other connects to either serial (rs232) or usb, and uses software for price of play, simply collecting data from the mech.

The full name is Excel Modular Credit Board

These boards are also supplied by Suzo Happ, who we all use as our main suppliers for everything related to gaming/amusement parts. Here is the catalogue, you need page 64...

Hope this helps,
