Hello all.
Used to used a jukebox app on my android tablet that went kaput and now it doesn't work anymore and the Android store doesn't carry it anymore.

Came across E-Touch for the PC and it looks very promising as I've been meaning to make a PC/Touchscreen/Jukebox for our newly remodeled basement anyways.

So, after 30 or 40 minutes of playing with this, and 20min of browsing around the forums... I'm either missing or passing by some very basic information, or its not here.
I'm guessing I'm missing it - but maybe you guys can answer a few things for me.  I'm in the FAQ forum, but I am not finding a general FAQ for this product.

1) I've been messing with E-Touch, but the forum also talks about Freebox.  What is the difference between the two?
2) E-Touch: Downloaded 8.0.17.  Is this freeware, donate-ware, limited functionality demo...  I guess I don't understand what I downloaded.
3)  I see the different PayPal options on the main screen, and the $35 says "$35 Will get you the full home use version without the credit options enabled."  Can someone explain what the credit options are used for?  Is it to put a limit on use?  I don't think the credit feature is something I'd really use, but still would like to donate as the program seems cool.  Played with Credits settings for a little bit - but not really understanding (in a home-use environment) what I would use it for.
4) Internet access. When I go to select a song off an album, my firewall yells at me that it needs a connection for this application.  What is it accessing the net for?  I denied it once... and the whole app locked up.  Is internet required - is it possible just to use it with my own local PC that doesn't have internet?  (I have a MAME machine that is off the network.  Was thinking about using the Jukebox on there for a while, but not if I need internet)

I think I have lots more questions, but those are the immediate ones that I'm trying to figure out after 30min of playtime.
Looking forward to playing with this and hopefully using it for my jukebox project

It used to be called Freebox and the early branded version that are free (Up to V3) still use this name.

If you downloaded this from the demo section here it should be limited to 30 minutes use, $35 will get you access to the full V8 builds and earlier. $70 gives you access to the betas some limited release skins and all future versions V9, V10 etc when they are released.

Credits are for using coins, I doubt you will want this in a home environment.

It gets artist information via RSS feeds, these can be turned off in the online options sections.

Hopefully that answers your questions, anything else feel free to post up.

Thanks for the reply and for answering everything.  :)

Haven't had much time to play with this since the other day.
One question that comes to mind....

I was playing with the video options and am on a PC with one monitor.
I got the video to play just fine, but it played full-screened over the jukebox gui, until it was done... then went back to jukebox gui.

Is there any way to have the video pop up in a small 1/4 size window within the jukebox gui, as to be able to continue to make selections during playback - or would I just need two monitors to pull that off?

It should only show on the now playing screen do you have windows media player set to be on top?

Hmmm...
How do I check to see if it is set on top?  :-\
Should it be?

TIA.

(20min later...)
Oh... I think I got it. I need to click on the progress bar square up in the corner to get to the Now Playing screen, at which I can see the video up in the corner of the window.
One more click on it and the video goes full screen

Still haven't found where to toggle this off.  Looking for 'online options' sections... not finding it. Probably overlooked it 40 times.  lol

Barcrest

Take the tick out of use RSS, you can turn it off for spots and also artists.

Not trying to annoy you or sound like an idiot... but I can go through every page in the settings and not find anything that mentions RSS.
What page or area in the configuration should I be seeing these settings?

Uh.. My options say version 8.0.1.7
That is the newest one I can find to download... and there is no options screen that is dedicated to "Online Settings" on 8.0.1.7

Yours is version 9.0.0 according to the pic.

Is there anyway to disable the Internet Access on 8.0.1.7 or is there any demo for 9.0.0 to check out?
