Title: 2nd Monitor
Post by: Hitnrun on August 26, 2008, 04:34:09 PM
Hi guys

One simple question.
In order to run 2nd monitor (videos, karaoke, etc, etc) while using freebox in main monitor
Is it necessary to use a DUAL  VIDEO CARD or can I use two regular video cards in my computer
and configure them to work this way???? ???
I've not tried any method but I was wondering........

I'm in the process of buying things to make a jukebox and freebox is the best choice.

Any advice will be highly apprecciated.

Two video cards should work as long as XP recognizes them separately. The big thing is not Freebox recognozing two monitors, it's XP. Just go into the XP display settings after installing them both and see if you now have a choice for two monitors.

Most new cards have a TV out and you can use that however i have used 2 cards and just used the VGA out on both and that also works fine

It's all up to windows.

I've used the mobo onboard video and an extra video card.

finding cheap PCI VGA cards is harder and harder.  Unless you go to ebay.

I'm with you brother. I had to pay more for the PCI card than i did for my AGP one.
