Title: Mkv video files
Post by: Bren on September 16, 2008, 01:01:32 PM
I have been speaking to Barcrest on this topic but its not fair to keep bothering him so any help would be appreciated. Basically i have a load of mkv music videos simply named as 'a-ha-take on me' with no file extension. Barcrest says i just need to rename them so i have for example A-ha-take on me.avi but the non mp3 tagger will not recognise them. By that i mean i click the folder where they are but nothing appears for me to select.

That is because you have the option set in explorer to hide file extensions for known types. All you did when you renamed that file is call it "take on me.avi.mkv". you can alter the setting in explorer buy going to tools > Folder Options and selecting the View Tab. Assuming you are using XP Obviously.

I'm using Vista so that option does not appear there.

Make sure you have them in the correct directory format

My Videos\Artist\Album\***Video Files***

Make sure it's in that format and see if that works

Yes the mp3 tagger finds them easily but the config program does not. I am selecting videos too

Yes, if they are not in sub folders they will not be picked up by the config like eist said. The tagger sees them as you are browsing to that folder. You need to split them into sub folders, i do it by artist.
