Title: JPG Slow down
Post by: Chunce on May 22, 2009, 04:02:36 PM
At what size or resolution do you start seeing slow down in E-touch, I know you want to keep the album art to 500 X 500, but I have allot of images at all kinds or resolutions and sizes.  If I delete all the images of a certain size, say anything over 400K, would that speed things up while scrolling through the list?

I too had problems with slow down and re-sized all my images to 500x500 and 170x170.  some of my images were 2000x2000 :(  after replies i got from other members in previous post ( speeding up display on may 9th), i now only do the 500x500 by hand and let freebox do the rest in the config process.  to shrink the image size even more to save space if you have adobe photoshop 7 or greater you can "save for web" and this compresses the file even more. now i have no problems with speed and my music collection is increasing weekly  ::)

I would suggest your album cover.jpg be 400 X 400 and your coversmall.jpg be 170 X 170. Your E-Touch will smoothly breeze through the albums.

I use a program called Irfanview http://www.irfanview.com/ (http://www.irfanview.com/). Its FREE and easy to use. You can also batch resize if you need too.

I hope this helps.  :beer
