Title: Auto play video on one monitor
Post by: More Cowbell on July 03, 2009, 03:31:09 AM
I know Barry is checking into this, but does anyone know if you can set it up so that a video will play immediately upon pressing "play it now" when you're using one monitor? You have to press the video up in the corner in order to get it to fill the screen as it stands now. Ideas?

I believe that's the only way to get it to work for now.

Too bad, that would be nice to have. Another issue I'm having relating to this is that when you push the upper right video to get it to fill the screen, the cursor stays on and sits in front of the video. I have the cursor hidden in freebox and even changed it to black in Windows, but it still shows up as white in the video area. Any ideas how to make it invisible or turn it off?

Barry,

This was the same issue I saw when running the Karaoke, I had to use that hide mouse pointer program for it not to show up. Here's the discussion I wrote July of last year

As for the mouse cursor over the Karaoke screen, could you use an external app to disable the cursor? I found a small free app called No Mousy http://www.autohotkey.com/forum/topic2197.html (http://www.autohotkey.com/forum/topic2197.html) that will hide the cursor (but still allow mouse movement) using the command nomousy.exe /hide and to get the cursor back you only need to run nomousy.exe I tried it in the Karaoke screen and it works to hide the cursor, but doing this manually would be hard, other than if Freebox could be set to run a command while starting up, the command to disable the mouse could be run, but at exit the command to reenable the mouse would need to be run. Just an idea, not sure how it's done now.

it would be great if we could have the play video (and karaoke) automagically when only having 1 monitor

Yeah I'm in the one monitor gang as well. Maybe work like that timer works for now playing. Let us pick what we want and then click over to full screen.
