Title: Running library from a USB drive...issues?
Post by: joneal24 on August 13, 2009, 05:48:54 PM
Is there any problem with running the jukebox with all music loaded on a USB drive?

I had been testing using a 250GB WD USB drive with about 20GB of music loaded using Version 5.14...last night I upgraded to 5.17 and when I went to rebuild the database I recieved numberous "path not found" errors.
I tried removing the songs/folders that seemd to have issues and I did find a few corrupted files. Once i removed the corrupted files I was able to build a database but when adding additional music I would recieve errors again when updating library.

Anyway...I currently have a 40GB HDD in the PC (which is very limited) so I decided to copy the entire 20GB over to the hard drive and rebuild the database...once I did this I had no issues building and running the application.

Anyone else run from a USB drive? are there known issues with running from a USB device? I now have only a few GB left on the internal hard drive and may need to upgrade if I cannot use a USB solution.

Thanks..

J

i use a WD 2Tb USB drive without problems so i think you may have file issues.
