I have come across a lot of karaoke files, but they are all named with different conventions, so I am tryong to standardize and rename them all. For MP3 files, I have always used Tag & Rename. Technically, I could use this on the MP3 file to straighten out the tag and then rename the MP3 file, but then the cdg file is named improperly.
Any good programs (preferably free or shareware) for tagging/renaming both mp3 and cdg files at once??
Any other tips hints for someone just getting their feet wet in karaoke?? Naming convention?

I use Tag & Rename just editing mp3 and cdg changes automatically.
Did you double check cdg

You can alter the tag but it sounds like he want's to rename the file as well. The only program i found that could do it was Karaoke Songlist Creator but it's not free and not cheap althought I think there is a demo.
Tag and Rename has the feature of renaming files and when you rename the MP3 the cdg
is renamed automatically.
Just make a test and you will confirm what I say.

I never knew T&R did this either. Sure enough, I tried it, and when I hit "rename" in T&R, I looked at the folder, and it renamed both the mp3 AND the cdg.
Thanks for the tip!! It makes me love T&R even more than I did yesterday!
