Title: Song Facts
Post by: ecbrad on October 27, 2009, 01:52:56 AM
I keep getting this error when loading a track? The song will still play but the error keeps looping so that I can't move away from the screen

As a temporary fix you can remove the songfacts data. I don't see the error but i will try and recreate it. If i can i will fix it.

Weirdly it only happens so far for 1 Album. I have too many to test but for instance it happens for the CD 10,000 Maniacs (MTV)

Yes it errors out on my 10,000 Maniacs album also, that's because by default there is a songfacts.dat in the E-Touch directory that has an entry for 10,000 Maniacs. I deleted the file (or the data inside the file can't remember) and there is no longer an issue.

It musn't like either the special character OR the length of the number then.

I have had trouble working out exactly why this doesn't work properly... I wil try and take another look but it's a real odd one.

This as been reported as far back as beta 14 in July.  This rang a bell, because I was also having problems with 10,000 maniacs.   I think it is because the files that Barry is using are comma delimited, so when it sees that comma in "10,000" it messes up the column spacing of the comma delimited file.

I deleted the songfacts at that time as a workaround.

I did think it was the comma causing the issue however it doesn't seem to always fail on all their songs i will have a closer look at what i going on.
