Hi,
I've just encountered a "problem" with some of my albums and how they show up. An example may explain it best.
The album title is Bella Donna by Stevie Nicks. It contains 10 tracks. 8 out of the 10 tracks are tagged with Stevie Nicks as the artist. The 2 other are tagged as Stevie Nicks & Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks & Don Henley. This forces the album to show up on the screen as Bella Donna (artist) above the smallcover on the main screen. My tags have the "Album Artist" field all as Stevie Nicks. From what I gather, Freebox does not make use of Album Artist tag. Is there a reason for this or am I just missing something? I really don't want to change my Artist tags seeing as other programs (squeezebox/slimserver) support the album artist field. I just want to keep one library and use that library for all my needs. Any thoughts on the album artist tag? Seems Like this would be a common problem.
You will have to tag every song with just Stevie Nicks in the artist field. E-Touch does use the artist fields. The reason it messes up is because when it see's more than one artist listed in that field it assumes it's a various artist album and then just uses the album name instead. I've had this happen to me long time ago so all I did was I used the main artist's name in the artist field only and then in the song field I would use the name of the song and then add featuring whoever the other artist(s) were. After that I had no problems at all with albums like that.
Thats exactly what I do. Small price to pay imo.

Ouch, I was afraid of that. Maybe I'm just being anal about not wanting to edit the tags. I have several Albums with this glich, after being "properly" tagged by freedb. Like I said, I really wanted to avoid altering the tag seeing as it plays nice in iTunes and Squeezecenter.
Barcrest, any chance of Album Artist support in a future release or Verson?
Thanks
Well i also do the same as the other guys adding feat information or duet info into the track info.
