Title: Genre incorrect on AAC files
Post by: motiv01 on January 05, 2010, 05:12:44 AM
I noticed when generating the library on my AAC collection that the genre field in the ID3 tag that was being quickly displayed didn't look correct on the majority of the files.  Once I brought it up and filtered on genre, there were a lot of weird genres.  It appears that most were not read correctly.  I'm not sure if the tags in my files are causing a parsing problem, or what.  All of the files were created with iTunes and have embedded album art.  I've also run AACGain on them, which adds some tags, I think.

Also, I can look at one of the .m4a file's details in the Windows 7 properties and all of the tags look correct, including the genre.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Doug

This is probably and issue with the audiogenie library. It's not something that I can fix however i believe frosty was working with him on solving some issues so he may be able to shed more light. I personally don't have any M4A files.
