Title: Album / single issuse
Post by: tsemclarney on February 01, 2010, 09:35:51 PM
I'm still looking for jukebox software, but I'm sure I want to use freebox.
I have many cd and about 5000 singles many are the same songs as the albums but live tracks.

What is the best way to handle the singles, could I make a file for each artist called misc and just add some fan art for a cover?

How would I name this type of file?

Any other ideas would be great.

Barcrest, thanks for the option to try free box, and I hope to be paying soon.

freebox trats ech folder/directory as an album. So you could group songs into folders and add a cover.jpg to that folder and you would be almost good to go. I say almost because you need all the files in each folder (Album) to have the same album name, tag & rename has a demo you can download that will make that part easy.

If you don't want to have collections of tracks but each track to show up individually then just put each one in it's own folder/directory with an image called cover.jpg. You can then set freebox to show play options if only one track is found and it will work like a singles jukebox. Actually that method is how the sound leisure boxes work here in the U.K.

Feel free to pos any more questions.
