Post by: Norman Marshall on December 16, 2010, 07:19:09 PM
To all you skin creators,
Im very interested in making my own skins so ive started playing with the skin tool and moving things around (its now a lot easier with barry's dummy guide, Well done barry) Now im getting the hang of the skin tool i want to make my own skins, Can some one tell me what software i need to create the buttons and stuff, What format they should be saved as e.g jpeg, mpeg, bmp, gif ect ect. All help appreciated

You can just look in the image folder of any of the latest skins.
You will see that the buttons in GIF and the background images are JPEG. There are also some BMP images.
I like to use Paint.net to create the images but that is just me.

You could also try GIMP and use a tutorial off the web detailing how to make buttons in it.

It's under the tutorial section now where it should have been.
