Title: Help with skin tool
Post by: g0pkh on April 11, 2011, 09:12:29 PM
Hi all.

I am a new user and love E-Touch.
I have installed the latest version V7.

I am really struggling however with the skinning tool.
I am trying to resize the default V7 skin to fit a 1024 x 576 10.1 " touchscreen.

All I have managed to do so far is mess the skin up.

Has anyone managed to resize a skin for this resolution ?

Regards

Pete

There is a laptop skin that is close to that resolution and should work for you. I think Lockers created it.

EDIT:
This is the link to the thred.

Hi Lockers.

Yes it is a very strange size. It is one of those cheap chinese 10.1 Touchscreen monitors.
(USB Video) types. I am running it in full screen mode yes. It actually works very well.

Your 1024 x 600 resolution is very close, but  just a little too high.
I have started to resize your skin for 576.
I have tried the resize tool in the skin editor, but all I do with that is make a mess LOL.

I am at the moment manually cropping the images to 1024 x 576 to avoid any resize problems, and then hopefully I can use the skin tool to just move a few of the buttons and labels around.

Perhaps you could advise if this is the best way to go about it. I don't need all of the buttons on the main screen so hopefully I can get a working skin for this monitor.

Regards

Pete

Hey Lockers

That would be fantastic. Thankyou very much.

I am trying to get on with the skin tool, but finding that there are some items which simply will not move.

It seems to have a mind of its own. I can move labels down for example but not up, left but not right,
I am getting really confused with it. Not sure what is going on.

Many thanks

Pete
