On my older versions, the E-Touch picture of an E-Touch juke would be on the screen until the program completly starts and the music played and you get the Albums screen.
On the current version, The screen goes black and it says Loading Black & Blue skin ...etc.. and sits there for about 2 minutes, then the music in the queue starts and it taks a while longer to get to the Albums screen?
Is this normal with the latest reg release?
Or do I have a problem?
Also, What skin is that being used in the sample piucture of E-Touch at startup?? I like the way it looks. :D
This is normal since the loading changed to speed things up recently. Etouch now loads and begins to play music before completely loading the skin. This speeds up getting things running again after a crash or reboot.
The Top 20 is now handled differently also, which depending on how large your history is can save a ton of time (as seen below).
Overall loading times have been cut in about half since Ver.7 was first released.

Test was done with a History of 4800 songs
Ver 6.5 Ver 7.0 % of Time Ver 7.0.2B6 % of Time
Load Etouch Settings: 24secs 27secs 18% 13secs 22%
Load Current Skin: 27secs 34secs 22% 32secs 54%
Build Top 20: 76secs 76secs 51% 2secs 3%
Build Most Played: 12secs 12secs 9% 12secs 21%
TOTAL TIME: 139secs 149secs 100% 59secs 100%
Pretty impressive! Cut time from 2:29 to load to :59 - saving over 60% in time to load!!!
Not sure what you did to speed up the initial ETouch settings loading too, but I tested multiple times and they are loading twice as fast.
Looks like if you can tweak the building of the Most Played like you did the Top 20 you'll gain about another 10secs (16%) too.
The startup times are also influenced by the hardware and OS you're using.
I've found that the intel boards starts up faster than others.
