Title: Does V 708 take more memory than V 653 ?
Post by: Pinball on July 03, 2011, 10:39:49 PM
Does V 708 Ace of Spades take more memory
than V 653 Cookin With Gas ?

I upgraded V 653 Cookin With Gas to 708 and each time I try to start the program, when it gets to Loading Queue, I get message that Virtual Memory is too low.  Then a Windows popup that says Increasingt Virtual Memory.

The E-Touch program just sits there on that Loading Queue screen and the entire system is locked up.

I need to power of the PC and re-boot./

I did this 3 times , then re-installed V 653 Cookin With Gas .

All is well on V 653.

Any thoughts??

It shouldn't use more memory, more things are held in arrays but these are dynamic arrays anyway. How much memory do you have? 512mb is really the minimum to get the best out of XP. I know it will work with 256mb and E-Touch will run on that but you will get a lot of page file activity that could affect performance.

you could add more ram or simply adjust the paging
