Hey guys I'm setting up my jukeboxes for karaoke and have already install it on some of my jukeboxes. I have problem that the mic sound to low. I do all the steps make sure the mic boost is on and the whole nine yards. Recently I swaped out a mic on one of my jukes thinking the low mic volume was do to the cheap mic. Even with the new mic it still the volume stayed low, this is with a mobo that has realtek. I took the mic that I thought was damage to another jukebox that doesn't have realtek and the mic was way loud and I had to lowwer its volume and it working great.
I would like if you guys can recomend mics or give insight on what you guys use. Thank in advance!! :beer
I'm using wireless vodofones thru a behringer mixer and have 1 wired dynamic Mic as a backup. I recomend using a mixer as you hve better volume control and the FX is a must..
I think I tried a Mic jack on the mobo long time ago with no success, I believe that's more for like podcasting and recording...I could be wrong.
I agree with going with a mixer. If there is anything that will blow speakers it's microphones - I can attest to this multiple times when using mics on my jukebox (thank you Polk Audio for your no questions asked 5 year free replacement policy!)
You'll get some people who whisper into the mic and expect to be heard and then right after you'll get somebody screaming into it - or if you have 2 mics you can get both on the same song! You'll blow speakers left and right if you don't have some kind of mixer and dynamic range compression (DRC). DRC will bring the low volumes up and the high volumes down on the microphones.
I'm guessing these mixer will have to be ajusted for every singer, right? Do not know how to implement for commercial use. ???
Well, for the most part I havnt been to a karaoke bar where someone isn't running the show. I suspect a place with no one to motivate new singers and fill in thedead air time might not get much use..
It is possible to set up a mixer to stay at a general volume for all likes but as stated you Neva know what kina singer you will have..I have a couple friends who can turn any song into a screamo and I gotta keep a watchful eye when they grab the Mic lol.
I'm gonna have to buy a mixer just to try it out. Maybe leave it on one setting like draginit said and see how that goes or maybe leave the mixer to the bar owner(not surE). But I do have one jukebox which is the only one working with karaoke and the volume is set and it working great, without mixer and the mic is connected to the pc.
Oh Thas kul. Maybe there have been improvements to the Mic usage thru etouch/mobo. But last I ever messed with it I remember it was still buggy or seemed to lack the desired FX's. After hooking up mixer I Neva looked back. Good luck, hopefully it works out.
E-Touch Karaoke can definitely be run without a mixer, just hooking up a microphone or two directly to your motherboard or sound card (depending on your setup) will work.
If you are offering the option as a commercial service a mixer would be a good option to add. At the same time a mixer is useless without someone to manually be able to control it.
I've tried many different karaoke setups with E-Touch trying to find the best sound. My personal experience has concluded the best sound comes from a mixer with someone manually adjusting the volume settings for each singer (the mixer isn't needed for anything else). If this isn't possible then don't even bother with a mixer. Just permanently set the microphone volumes at a safe setting that will keep the screamers from blowing your speakers and the whisperers will just have to sing louder if they want to be heard.

Thanks! This is what I want to do but on the realtek intergrated soundcard you can barely hear yourself. I have done tones of reseach on this and have no luck. I make sure the boost is on, raise the vol to max, everthing. I think I'm going to buy another sound card before a mixer and see if that helps. Then if all else fails I'll try the mixer. Thanks for the feedback guys. :beer
I recommend the Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE Card. I have used this audio card in my setup for a couple years now. You can pick one up for about $20 shipped - it also comes in a low profile model if you need it also. It will do everything you need and supports 2 channel stereo up to 7.1 surround.
