Title: Auto renaming or re foldering tool (if thats a word)???
Post by: Jim7 on March 01, 2012, 09:48:07 PM
Heres my prob... all my videos are in this file format

c:/ Videos/artist-songtitle.mp4

I have to go through all of them and rename them

c:/Videos/artist/song title.mp4
For them to work with etouch. I end up creating a folder
c:/videos/alabama
and then coping all the files
artists-song.mp4 files into that folder... a lot of typing and right clicking. Does any one know of a program that could do this automatically>>??

I.E>. create a folder based on the first part before the dash... the artist and then put the rest of the files into a sub folder...just make it automated....
I'll be honest... I really don;t think such a program exists but I figured I would give it a try and ask ... I have a large collection and I am lazy.... :)
thanks for any help

GREAT SOFTWARE LOVE IT

I tried media monkey. I use it for all my mp3 music but when I tell it to scan the video folder full of mp4 videos it finds nonthing what am I doing  wrong If u get a chance try to scan  into mm a couple of mp4 videos and see if u can get it to recognize them... Let me know if it works for u. If it works I must have to do something different for movies then music

Thanks

I think tag&rename will do it for you using the rename function.
