Title: Facebook?
Post by: rumackay on July 06, 2013, 02:07:27 PM
I've started using facebook not so long ago and it's a bit of fun. Is there a feature where you can have the jukebox post automatically which song is currently playing? IE: set up a page for the "venue" and have automatic posts of "xx (song) is now playing"? Or something similar. Does that make sense?

This is something that should be possible with the new email feature.

Here's how you can use the email feature with Facebook. Barry needs to add functionality for sending song info

Posted this awhile back

I just found a way to update my Status on Facebook via email.... Here is the link http://heresthethingblog.com/2012/07/18/post-photos-facebook-phone-mail/ (http://heresthethingblog.com/2012/07/18/post-photos-facebook-phone-mail/) so all that is needed is the Subject Line in the Email is what is used for the status update, and any pictures or video attached to the email will be uploaded to the Status Page on Facebook. Just tried it and it works great! The user just needs to add their mobile phone number to their Facebook account and then go to the Mobile settings and see what their Mobile Upload email address is, then that is the address that you can send to. If you are interested, you may want to add a place to enter "Facebook E-Mail Address" So you can have an option to send to facebook or send to your personal email address. Thought you might be interested in this, as it does not need any additional coding on your side to post on Facebook....

I have added a post to face book email address but i can't test it as i don't want to give facebook my phone number... That email option should be availble regardless of if you have phone registered... Someone else will have to test it out.

I know this is an old thread but The way it's explained in the link from Eist and his comments afterward are kind of vague. Can Eist or Barry add some additional help on this topic? Ive tried I don't know how many ways to post to facebook through the email address and Im getting no where.

I can't help because I don't have a phone number tied to facebook. If I had a PAYG sim I could probably set it up to that. I will see if I can get an O2 sim for one of my old handsets and have a play with it.
