Title: Best Way To Install Updates?
Post by: urbecrisch on August 31, 2013, 03:56:18 PM
Curious on the best way to install updates to etouch, especially the beta releases which come out on a regular basis.

Is it best to uninstall the old release and install the new one or just install the newer release without uninstalling the old version?

Do I need to mess with the CPU registry at all?

I typically just install the newer version and run that one without uninstalling the old version.  Maybe that's why I am experiencing some bugs with each new version.

I have just been installing over the top but always back up and restore the following folders:

Attract
Collections
Genres
History
Skins

But that's mainly because I have customised some stuff in these folders.

You can usually install over the top unless I mention otherwise in the notes. At the bar I have been backing up the previous e-touch.exe by renaming before installing the latest beta it just in case I break something as that is a live environment.
