Title: Update Library
Post by: Gaucho on January 22, 2014, 01:03:23 PM
Does this work O.K. or are we better off using generate library.

Just thought config would run quicker obviously if I just used update.

Hmmm it's supposed to be quicker but you are probably better off generating from scratch so the artist, year and genre libraries rebuild correctly. It's pretty quick on a generate anyway.

No worries, I'm running off batch files anyway so it's pretty much automated.

Do you use audioDB to get missing covers and fanart etc? You can use the config from the latest beta with the full V8 release.

No I've always used tag and rename. I also run everything through mp3 gain as well before transfering it to the juke in the pub.

If anyone else works on their music before moving it to their main juke I have been using team viewer to manage everything remotely.

Do you not use fanart and artist logos? Tag & Rename can't get those.

There are lot's of features I don't use yet as I want everything perfect from a punter point of view before I introduce new features.

For example I disabled the RSS feed because of the lag it caused as commented by others. I will play with facef**k etc when everything is smooth.

I must admit the thing people are most impressed with is that a) I have shit loads of tracks (about 15000 at the mo) and b) if I haven't got it, they submit a request, I get an email and can add the album/artist within 24 hours remotely using team viewer.

I did spend hours making sure I had every number one since the charts started and have made compilation albums (e.g. 60's number ones and so on) and this has also impressed and I do advertise the juke as have every single number 1 since the charts started.
