I have nearly finished my second jukebox.. this one came about because one of my mates had a few wall mount shells made up and one of them wasn't claimed so he gave it to me. I wasn't too keen on the wall mount idea because:
a) my walls are plasterboard and won't support the weight
b) there's nowhere for the sub
c) it's not portable and,
d) this unit was too big to be wall mount in my opinion.
So I decided to make it freestanding by making up a box to go under it for the sub and to make it a useable height. here's a photo with the box built, the edges all routed so they are round and sitting on top of one another to see final height.

I decided to go with 6.5" car speakers and I grabbed some from jaycar which were $250 splits with ribbon tweeters and they sound great. for the sub I got a $350 12" active home theatre sub from jb hifi and used all the parts in my sub box.
The screen in my mark I jukebox was always too small in my opinion so I decided to use the biggest screen I could fit, which was a 22" widescreen and I got a touch panel off ebay to go with.
Once I had all the stuff I cut the monitor hole, routed the edges to 45 degrees, filled in all the nail and screw holes and gave the whole lot a few coats of car primer/filler and sanded it back with 600 grit sandpaper for that smoother than a baby's bum feel. Here's a pic at that stage:

Then I headed off to my mate's work for him to put a few coats of 2 pak gloss black car paint on it. I think it came out really well.
For bling factor (which I think all jukeboxes need) I put a sheet of 5mm perspex in between the 2 parts of the jukebox and put 12 RGB colour changing LEDs in there so it creates a bright line of colour that is always changing.

I made up the back panel with 2 fans, a metal panel which I made up with the power button, power led and HDD led, the power socket and it has a relay in a box on the inside so that when you power on the pc it powers on a powerboard which has everything else plugged into it.

Things to finish include putting an alminium kickplate along the bottom and still thinking about getting a betabrite for it, maybe in a custom box on top.

Prezo: I used a Kenwood KAC-M525 350W 2 channel amp and powered it with a 360W PC power supply for the speakers.
The subwoofer had it's own amplifiier built into the cabinet it came in so I used that, it just has a separate mains cable but it auto powers on and off so it's no problem.

what i need to know is how have you wired the amp up to the power supply.which colour wire did u use apart from the black.
im new to this so i dont want to screw it up.do you have a diagram for an idiot to see.

Making a jukebox for my mate prompted me to update mine. Put a new amplifier and 4 x new speakers, and installed a vga socket on the back to run a second monitor for visualizations from e-touch. here's a photo :)

It is a widescreen monitor, but it's 16:10 so it only supports 1680x1050.
I have tried using some widescreen skins but I cannot force the monitor to use the resolution the skins use, so it displays in 1680x1050 with black bars on it and looks silly. The best results I have found is using 1024x768 skins because for some reason the monitor supports running 1024x768 full screen. So it's not quite the right aspect ratio but it's not too bad.
Phil: I mostly just use audio, and I like to keep my music collection to actual music that I like, so I think there is about ~380 albums on there. I do have some video clips as well but many are not great quality and it annoys me that that are all different volumes so I don't listen to them that often. I tried putting karaoke on, but nobody ever used it and I can't sing so i don't worry about it anymore!

Update on the widescreen skins - I changed the PC in the jukebox and changed the video card for a 256mb one so I can run both monitors at any resolution now. I guess it was a limitation of my video card - have switched main screen to 1600x900 and using widescreen skin and it looks great :) Tried running the 26" on top at 1920x1080 but G-force visalizations are a little bit slow at that res so switched back to 1280x720.
