I'm planning on getting the home version but I had a question before I buy. I currently have a Dell Optiplex GX520 (Windows XP). I was looking to buy a newer computer with Windows 7. Will I have to buy the program twice if I want it now on my Dell pc?

No you will be fine as long as you keep your serial number
