Title: Swap your CD's here!
Post by: TurnItUp on January 15, 2008, 04:32:22 AM
Here is a site where you can post CD's you no longer want and get credits for them to buy CD's from other members.  It is called swapacd.com  I have posted about 35 CD's I no longer wanted or had duplicates of.  I think I have had requests for 5 so far.  Just received my first disc from another member today.  Very cool idea if you have CD's you want to get rid of and get CD's that you really want.  Fill up those jukeboxes!! Check it out:

i joined this awhile back. i didnt like it and didnt think to mention it. i cant remember off the top of my head but i think there was a catch...i still get emails from them and noticed theyve updated the site since ive joined. maybe i;ll check it out again.....

-add- i remember now, the credits system and ten to get started...i only have maybe 5 cd's to my name haha... i thought it would be a place to get more than you have to give. :tommy

-good site tho for those who have lots of cd's, bad for people like me. i found the majority who posting are really getting rid of their junk. thats what i did. i put my account on permenent vacation..heheh

good luck

So your protecting the CD with a piece of paper huh? Interesting.
I have easily a couple hundred discs laying around. So if Im careful and make sure the Cd is wrapped better Im screwing myself.  ???

I think what he is saying is that if you choose to send your CD's to other members more well protected than using the standard, printable paper wrapper that the site helps you print, you will probably end up paying more expensive shipping.

For example the last CD I received came in its original case, inside a bubble mailer.  The stamps on it totaled $1.81  whereas if you use the less protective paper wrapper, you can ship that for around 75 cents.  So if you choose to send it in a more protective manner, you will end up paying more to ship it to the other person.

From what I understand, the paper wrapper method has worked well, but there have been reports of broken CD's that way.

Yeah what he said. ;)

Netflix, which is a BIG DVD mailer uses a paper mailer with the DVD inside. Personally Im waiting for the DVD to arrive broke, but surprisingly enough it hasn't.
