Title: Midnight Blue - V10
Post by: berrywell on January 29, 2017, 08:06:36 PM
Hi all,

Here's a screenshot of my latest skin, it's based upon the same design as my Christmas skin that I made for last Christmas.

If you like the look of it, it can be downloaded from the V10 Skin Releases section of this forum.

It's available in 1024x768 & 1920x1080 resolutions.

Nice and simple. Shall have another look after cards

1) Do you really need two things saying the same thing on one button? E.G You have a red new wrap on one button, and then you have just added on that same button. It seems a bit over kill to me
2) I know you can remove it via options, but I hate the eTouch Jukebox name, it takes up too much space
3) The no song playing part, too me looks a bit too small. You have obviously the jukebox id there, the etouch and mute button by the looks of it. Personally it might look better bigger.
4) It might be me, but the search and menu round buttons look different sizes, it looks a bit odd to me
5) I personally would move the menu button up to the same height as the search button to make it look uniform, and then move the song playing down, but that is me, it would make it look more uniform

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your feedback, it's good to get this as sometimes people spot something you can't see yourself.

1.) I wanted the 'new' button to stand out, hence why I did it that way. When either the 'new' ribbon is removed or the 'Just Added' text is removed, the button looked quite bland & didn't stand out. I suppose it's just my personal preference.

2.) The E-Touch name, again this is personal preference, I just liked the way it fitted in, plus you can add features to it (e.g. snow for Christmas skin) when making the special occasions skins.

3.) The 'no song playing' section was a right pain in the backside, this part I struggled the most with this as just couldn't really make it fit in with everything else. Very annoying and frustrating and this is how it ended up. The button at the side of it is the player controls pop up button. As for the FREEPLAY, Jukebox ID# & Play NOW texts, I have these unticked on my Jukebox and they don't show up, they were placed there in case anyone else wanted to make use of them.

4.) It's definitely not you, the Menu & Search buttons ARE different sizes. The reason for this was to keep the left hand side buttons (search, new, random etc.) all uniform and the right hand buttons (menu, up/down arrows, jump to..) the same as well.

5.) Your suggestion of moving those features around isn't possible - The Song Playing (main), Search (menu) & Menu (album) buttons are all on 3 different individual screens.

Regards

Tel.

This is the Christmas Skin I made and the E-Touch Logo I was referring to in point 2 above. :)

I like the Christmas theme, however, I personally would ask another question. I appreciate that you are doing it bog standard with all the features, where as I don't I strip the hell out of it. Where you have the eTouch Jukebox, you could have done a graphic just saying Merry Christmas there.

Anyway that is me rambling, but I would ask people if they use the jukebox ID, the name etc, get some feedback on what they do actually use. If they all come back with a resounding no, then means you can strip it, ok forget that one. I just looked and the eTouch logo is an image, so yes a pub would want that maybe.

Right I am going to shut up, as my motherboard has turned up, so finish my morning breakfast of a few beers, then time to hopefully get my gaming PC back up and running so I can get it back in the cabinet again. I still have one more computer to rebuild so hopefully that will be finished some time in February to early March and then I am back up and running then.

Regards

Mark
