I can run etouch on a pentium d which is an old computer, but ideally you want as good as you can afford really.

Are you going to use it as a dedicated jukebox, or are you going to be running other programs on it?

I think that I have my main juke on a g4200 chip or something like that, dedicated sound card and it works fine.

An older computer can run a lot better with an SSD drive in, when I first brought my pentium D for my office computer, it was slow as hell, add an SSD and dedicated graphics and it brings a new lease of life to the computer.

Operating system is also an issue. People are using this on XP but using it offline, simply because XP is no longer catered for in relation to virus and backdoor protection. I personally use Windows 7 on 3 out of 4 of my machines, my jukebox, office and home cinema, I was running 7 on my gaming PC, but I put windows 10 on, because I wanted to try xbox one and windows 10 together for anywhere gaming.

I was a beta tester for 10, and I still would not recomend it, but it is going to be the safest operating system to use come 2020 when 7 stops getting virus updates.

I have used and tested on all of my systems and I have the following

A pentium D, works fine, a g2400 odd processor, which I think is my jukebox, an i3 processor and also an i5 processor.

In my office PC I have 4 gigs of ram, and in the others, I think that everything is eight gigs of ram. Three PCs have dedicated graphics, but my jukebox is onboard graphics.

All of us have different set ups, so no one set up is correct, but parts are cheap as chips when people build new systems, I usually buy the best that I can afford to future proof.

A good i3 and 8 gigs of ram and you would have no problems, dedicated graphics maybe, dedicated sound card with a tos link.

The tos link really makes a jukebox sound a hell of a lot better, hdmi does not cut it when it comes to audio, unless you spend hundreds of pounds on cables, my HDMI were in the £30's and they sound nowhere as good as my tos cable, the sound literally bounces across the room.

Anyway shall stop waffling, but wanted to add an update, as I am bored and not tired yet.

Regards
