ive set wmp to crossfade and normalize but it doesnt take effect in freebox this would be great if freebox could do this or is there any software to help with this

For crossfading go into the Options screen, then hit Appearance Settings and on the bottom left there is a setting for Crossfade Cutoff, not sure how well it works, but I know people have asked for it in the past. As for Normalizing, most people use MP3Gain on all of there MP3's which normalize each file individualy. I have used the WMP plugin DFX Audio Enhancer, which makes my MP3's sound alot better.

will give that a try i have used mp3gain before would be great to get volume leveling of the fly

Problem was the crossfading plugin did work but it made song skipping with the progress bar crash freebox and the it was not the most stable. I did post the link up somewhere on this forum.

ok ill leave the crossfading and look at the sound nomalizing on the fly is there anything you can recomend for the job

Barcrest

Not on the fly. People normally do this using MP3 gain. It normalises them all before hand.

does mp3 gain adjust mp3s to a higher gain to match the settings of mp3s that are a poor level

Sparky23

Yes......You can set MP3Gain to a certain level and it will normalize everything mp3 to the level you have it set at.
