Ok, before you hurl insults at me, understand, I am a newbie, I probably shouldn't even be working on a video game cabinet, but it was a dream and I am plodding along.

So I did my homework, looked at some jukebox programs settled on e-touch, downloaded the demo, tried to run it on my cab (just in windows) and got the following:

1) no art, I spent a month updating my mp3 files, used tag and rename and got zero album art
2) got a screen that doesn't fit my cab screen. cab resolution: 640 x 480, e touch doesn't have that option
3) can't play a song (think that is because I can't see parts of the screen
4) can't exit, no idea there

Once those are fixed and maybe they can't be, there is the mamewah part.

1) How would you set it up in Mamewah?

Remember, I know about zero, I follow directions because I don't know enough about this stuff to understand it.

Your help is appreciated and please, if I can't get the resolution or this can't work in Mamewah, let me know and I will try to find something else.

Thanks.

Well if you are stuck at 640x480 then you are out of luck. There isn't currently a skin set up for that resolution, you could make one if you had the time. Issues 2,3 and 4 are tied to this.

As for the art you need to have an image in each albums folder. The default filename is cover.jpg however you can change it if you already have something like front.jpg or whatever. Ideally you will also have a smaller thumbnail of that cover image which the default is coversmall.jpg. There is plenty of informaiton on setting up your covers on this forum so i am not going to duplicate it here.

I am not stuck at this resolution, it is just the optimum one for the CRT arcade monitor that I have in the cab.

Ok, it seems I have two options:

1) Make a new skin, I am willing to give that a try, is there a process written to do this? There probably is, I was looking around the sight last night

2) Change the resolution within Mamewah when e touch comes up. Not sure if this is possible, I think it might be. Anyone familiar with this?

Thanks.

Well i would assume 800x600 shouldn't look to bad and there is a default skin for that. Is your screen touchscreen or are you hoping to use it with key inputs?

Key inputs via the arcade buttons, joysticks and spinners, no touchscreen.

The default 800 x 600 leaves off the bottom of the screen, just above the last button on teh left and leaves a small section of the screen off on the right.

I have tried both defaults and they arent going to work, unless I can figure out how to change the resolution within Mamewah for e touch.

When setting the screen to 800 x 600 can you see the windows taksbar? If you can but E-touch appears to be cut off you need to take E-touch out of windowed mode by checking the fullscreen check box in appearence options. You should now see it's full screen with nothing cut off. If you save the settings of that and then call it from mamewah it will set the resolution to 800x600 itself when launched saving you the need to make mamewah set the resolution.

Mamewah can launch external applications noe problems and also handle resized screen resolutions.

Brad-

Would you know how this can be done?

When in windows, I can change res to 800 x 600 and the program runs fine, I am not srue how to:

a) run e touch through mamewah
b) change res within mamewah from 640 x 480 to 800 x 600 and then back again when exiting

Any help is appreciated.

You should be able to set your windows desktop to 800x600 and your mamewah setup to 640x480 and it'll do it automatically.

Set freebox to 800x600 fullscreen and it will set the res when launched it will restor when exited.
