Config Passcode????

Hi, i just purchased E-touch V8 and when i push the config button it hits me up for a passcode? any ideas? is it 12345 or something

Running the config doesn't need a code and there is no way to pass code that, are you referring to the credit module?

No sorry Barry i meant the config / settings icon when E-touch first starts up to let you into appearance, buttons and random play ETC.

E-touch started with every button on the screen so i went to try and turn some off like Karaoke but unfortunately it comes up with the pin pad and required a pin number to get in, i never had a pin on any previous versions so i'm unsure why it has come up now.

If you open up regedit and search for "e-touch 8" you can turn off the pincode prompt by removing the registry key for it under security. The default pin is 1234 if you never entered another pin.

Sorry i have never had a pincode before and it is not 1234, also i cannot find E-touch under HKEY_Local_MAchine to delete the pincode string.

is there a way to just use default settings?

it's under HKEY_CURRENT_USER - Software - VB And VBA Program Settings - E-Touch 8 - Settings - Admin Pin

Thinking about it I should probably encrypt that pin in the registry, although if you have the PC locked down properly no one should get unauthorised access to that anyway i guess.
