Ok, I have been fighting this problem for a couple of days now and I am at my wits end.  When I generate the library, I get random duplicate albums with odd info in the track listings.  I am running the latest 7.0.13 on Windows 7 x64.

I have made sure that all the records.xxx files and contents of artists/genres/years are deleted before generating the library.  I have triple checked that there is only one physical copy of these albums/files on my drive and I have checked all the tags in MediaMonkey... it all looks good.

But this keeps happening.  Any ideas what I could try?  I am pulling my hair out here.

Do those affected albums have a sub folder with any media in them? Do all the tracks match on artist and album name, check in tag and rename.

Another check is to load the config and look at those albums that are listed twice is the second listing the same path?

Yes, the second listing is the same path and there are no subdirectories. And the tracks do match as far as artist and album.

This is on my desktop machine. I was trying to get the database. Leaned up prior to moving the music files to the local drive on the jukebox machine which runs windows xp 32 bit. I went ahead and started it generating a library against the same music drive/folders before I left home to see if the results are the same.

The actual music is on a dlink SAN with raid, but I can't believe that has anything tqo do with this.

If the second entry is the same path then it should show the cover and the same tracks. Can you grab a screenshot from the config showin the duplicate albums paths?

Actually, they don't show up in config at all  ???

Looks like a win7 issue are you running it in admin? try moving its folder to the root of c.

Yes, config is running in Admin mode, but now that you mention it, the program executable is not...

Well it seems to definitely be a windows 7 issue. The same build of the software generated the library flawlessly against the exact same files on the network.

Was this after you had moved it's folder out of program files?

I thought you meant to move the music files folder to the root. I will move the program folder to the root and see what happens.

Because then it will use the correct CVR and REC files, windows 7 likes to store them elsewhere if you install the app into the program files directory AFAIK.
