I have nearly finished my second jukebox.. this one came about because one of my mates had a few wall mount shells made up and one of them wasn't claimed so he gave it to me. I wasn't too keen on the wall mount idea because:
a) my walls are plasterboard and won't support the weight
b) there's nowhere for the sub
c) it's not portable and,
d) this unit was too big to be wall mount in my opinion.
So I decided to make it freestanding by making up a box to go under it for the sub and to make it a useable height. here's a photo with the box built, the edges all routed so they are round and sitting on top of one another to see final height.
http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/9016/img0855a.jpgI decided to go with 6.5" car speakers and I grabbed some from jaycar which were $250 splits with ribbon tweeters and they sound great. for the sub I got a $350 12" active home theatre sub from jb hifi and used all the parts in my sub box.
The screen in my mark I jukebox was always too small in my opinion so I decided to use the biggest screen I could fit, which was a 22" widescreen and I got a touch panel off ebay to go with.
Once I had all the stuff I cut the monitor hole, routed the edges to 45 degrees, filled in all the nail and screw holes and gave the whole lot a few coats of car primer/filler and sanded it back with 600 grit sandpaper for that smoother than a baby's bum feel. Here's a pic at that stage:
Then I headed off to my mate's work for him to put a few coats of 2 pak gloss black car paint on it. I think it came out really well.
For bling factor (which I think all jukeboxes need) I put a sheet of 5mm perspex in between the 2 parts of the jukebox and put 12 RGB colour changing LEDs in there so it creates a bright line of colour that is always changing.

I made up the back panel with 2 fans, a metal panel which I made up with the power button, power led and HDD led, the power socket and it has a relay in a box on the inside so that when you power on the pc it powers on a powerboard which has everything else plugged into it.
I probably didn't explain a lot of things but anyways here's a (mostly) completed photo:
Things to finish include putting an alminium kickplate along the bottom and still thinking about getting a betabrite for it, maybe in a custom box on top.
