Video not full screen

My videos were playing full screen on my 2nd monitor. but now are only really tiny in top left as shown in photo.

Ive tried videos only and all for my 2nd monitor but still the same. not sure if this happened when changing to the latest patch of v9.
It was working ok on the first v9.

any ideas?

You have enabled the now playing screen for the second screen, uncheck that and they will return to full screen.

Yes it did - I had tried that but did not restart the software thinking it was on-the-fly, and then set it back before I exited!
