I upgraded my jukebox to win 7. I was wondering if there's a guide or tutorial on how to get karaoke working on it. I installed the karaoke2.3 file inside the folder. Every time I try to play a file it opens for 1 second then says no song playing.

Thanks...

You need to be clear on what you mean first before someone can help you.

You say that you upgraded your jukebox to Win 7 or do you mean version 7 of etouch?

Regards

Mark
I am now retired from the jukebox scene. I still visit from time to time and will help if I can, but apart from that. I am no longer a slave to downloading and tagging.

Yeah...I had karaoke working but dont remeber the details...I dont use karaoke anymore.  I think i used powercdg or something.  Let me get back to you.

I am using windows 7 and etouch version 8

Barcrest

Yeah that plugin was fine with XP but doesn't seem to like 7, you need the powerCDG plugin.

Is this it?

I put the powerCDG plugin on the computer and when I double click on the cdg file it says "windows media player cannot play the file. the player might not support file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file."
but if I open media player and go to file open the cdg file it works.

Anyone else seen this problem

thanks....

Risim

Play the cdg in wmp with etouch off it should ask you if you are sure you want wmp to play cdg click yes always.  Start etouch and play your karaokes.

When I try to play it in wmp  it says "windows media player cannot play the file. the player might not support file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file."

It sounds like you don't have a karaoke plugin set up for WMP then. You must be using the proper windows media player not classic.

if I open media player and go to file open the cdg file it works. I just can't double click the cdg file. When I do it opens wmp and a popup says error.

That is why they are not working with E-touch, it seems like the codec hasn't installed properly. Make sure you only have the power CDG plugin installed.

Finally got karaoke working.
I reformatted my hard drive and installed win 7.
anyone else need to know how to make it work for free.

1. Make sure you open window media player and use recommended settings.
2. install powerCDG plugin http://www.mymusictools.com/karaoke_software_19/power_cdg_filter_25632.htm
3. open a cdg file.
4. Install karoke for direct x beta 3.0 or higher http://sourceforge.net/projects/karaoke-dx/

when you open a new cdg file it will no longer say you have to buy powercdg plugin.

Hope this helps someone else too....
