Hi Guys

I have just noticed the toturials are outdated or not even here.
I'm looking for a complete E-Touch Options tutorial but I can't find any usefull tutorials here.
I could only find a part 1 but is only about the general settings buttons in options and the pictures are missing.
These kind of tutorials are very important especially for new users and will free up more time for Barry to work on coding E-Touch. The tutorials are extremely important, potencial new users will often search for software tutorials to get a basic idea of what it's all about.
So this is an important window to E-Touch and I'm asking for a volenteer to create professional good looking with lots of screenshots, easy to use and understand manuals for E-Touch?
From basic installation instructions, required software (like runtime files, WMP 11 etc.) and hardware requirements , how to use e-touch, the options menu and all the way to the more advanced features.

Who's up for this?

Much like before I fear no one will come forward.  :downer

OK Ill put my hand up. :) I totally agree with you coffee. Ive been a member here for a long time and I still dont know all the features.

Fordman has done a great job and I would like to continue on this theme and make a user manual of some sorts?

Id also like to not just give instructions. For example I have no idea how my e-touch is use. yes I know teh settings etc but what use is it.

Perhaps I should start a new thread? What do you guys think?

Cheers
Jas

Yes this is a good idea, I am more than open to help by answering any questions but i just don't have the time to write the whole thing. I think doing it like the skintool manual would be great even though it's not finished with some how too stuff. I wanted to essentially replicate the dummies guide series.

As for the My E-Touch, it lets a user create their own login that they can pin code. It will record all the songs they select while they are logged in and create their own personal top 10 of tracks viewable from hot hits. I was hoping down the line to let them have thier own playlists so they could just login and add thier playlist to the queue and log out. I was also thinking it could be used where they can gain free credits, so if they login then it gives them some free credits if they have met a certain criteria... I guess recording thier birth day might be a good time for this. Touchtunes have this system on their boxes now but as the only exposure i have to them is via your tube videos of them I have not been able to see what they do with thiers.

Hi All,

When my old domain expired, so did the pics that were used with the tutorials. Here's why: the domain/server I was using was originally for my brothers business, but he never used it for what it was intended. When the bill came in to renew for the domain, he didnt let me know and by the time I found out, it was too late (Barry used the domain for his jukebox web reporting and about a month ago, poof!). All the pics that were made for the tutorials were made on a computer that was dumped and basically I will have to start over.

So, here is my E-Touch commitment: I will redo the ones that I already had done along with some new ones. It will take me some time as it is getting closer to summer time and that means alot of outdoor activity and alot less computer/jukebox time.

I'll get started real soon!

Oooo, please guys we need the basic ones as well like "how to get started" and "hardware and system requirements for E-Touch" like what operating systems works best and what the minimum hardware requirements are to run E-touch on.

We also need a new moderator for the tutorials section so he can build a "frequently asked questions and answers" section with the common newbie problems.

i have 2 weeks off uni for easter starting week after next, i could do one then but it wont be for a couple of weeks.

also this might sound daft but having tutorials in PDF rather than .doc is much more proffessional. there are free to use converters online.

That's a great idea.
Users will also be able to download them and store them for future use.

Do them as DOC i can save them as PDF from office for uploading online. TThe advantage of having them as DOC files means we can edit them.

I did a basic tutorial in spanish with lots of screenshots for my folks, and they where happy cus it pretty much covered everything, i can translate that into english, but because english its my second lenguage it might not come out just right, i would love to learn the advance stuff, like network playing,pop-up player and everything elase. So a full tutorial would be nice. Ill tell you what, if someone does that tutorial i offer myself to fully translate that into spanish, that way you can atract more customers...

lockers90

If you upload them onto the forum il translate them with my translator program

No ofence but i seen how translator programs work, and they dont do fine in spanish(wouldnt know in any other lenguages)...youll get weird terms most of the time that dont have nothing to do with the real translation. If the tutorials need to be translated, they need to be human made by someone with fluid english and the other lenguage... :beer

I'd be more than happy to host them or be a mirror. I've been faithfully paying for the FTP Freebox lives on for one reason or another for at least 10years and well I doubt I'll stop anytime soon. ;)
I'm not around 100% so please feel free to PM if you need direct help. Trust me I'm not ignoring you in a post. ;)

Yeah I think they should be in DOC and then converted to PDF, but the source DOC's should be available for editing.
