Thats is a solid tutorial but what people need is a visual tutorial for how to do videos, radio stations , and karaoke. Anybody willing to do some youtube tutorials? I'm just a rookie and  so I only have audio, video and fanart working. The radio stations seem to be tricky to do :( and haven't gotten around to karaoke.

Anyone fancy updating this tutorial? It should tell you to highlight the generate genres, years and artist libraries as they are used extensively now. To be honest they should probably be hard coded to be generated all the time and those options hidden as you really need those libraries for a lot of the features now. Hmmm... Maybe i'll do a little more work on the config to try and remove some of those options and hard code them.

The link for the tutorial is down. It would be good to have youtube videos as well as documentation as sometimes videos can be easier even though someone will waffle on for hours when it takes less than two mins.
I am now retired from the jukebox scene. I still visit from time to time and will help if I can, but apart from that. I am no longer a slave to downloading and tagging.

We lost that when we lost the site a few months back.

You can upload to one drive now and then have a link no need for hosting any more. although hosting looks better in relation to sales. The main page needs updating with a few small tweaks but then small tweaks might ruin SEO placement. I have searched long and hard for jukebox software and I have to admit that despite having bugs and never working 100% for me but there is potential here. You are in my top 3 of software that I have seen and brought. I really wanted a pub jukebox so one software doesn't cut that but it is my number one. The other software that I brought are far too greedy and want money every six months for updates, the software is good but updates few and far between and usually just fixing bugs so eventually they will just go out the market in the end as the SEO is not high and I know someone else who is on both forums. You really need a team behind you and to look at the software again, I had a play with visual basic years ago about 15 just to create a lottery generator, I did look again a while ago but know apart from pressing yes, no and the red button then I can't do programming any more. Hell I am struggling with skin tool so that shows how bad things are, but you need to have the basics of the program sorted. I was trying the skin tool on the public release wouldn't work, I tried taking the black n blue v7 skin and editing that it wouldn't work as you said different graphic engine, I have tried creating a new skin to get runtime 0 error, the skintool manual has for dummies and yet in theory in should work, in practise it doesn't. You point click, move a few icons, save skin and hey presto, it doesn't work lol I could have created about 15 skins by now, only skin right now is me pulling my hair out. I have been trying to use black n blue as the manual says in similar style and size format to create a skin and it doesn't work, I got my serial number and there was no you have to download another version and then enter your serial number into, I was there scratching my head for hours trying to find out where to put the serial number. It is the small touches that need updating. I did say about putting a skin tool section for skinners, but you said about there being one in skins, but as I have noticed tonight, it is more about people requesting skins and other bits and bobs, I honestly learnt nothing going through that. The ship needs to be tightened such as version 9.14 is announced but there are no skins for version 9 only version 8, but again dead links. The commercial side of things will not work 100% as the software is not quite there yet, in fact it reality a lot of commercial people will not touch you I do not mean that in a bad sense, but if I was a pub and for £30 a month I could get 30,000 tracks updated everything week and all I have to do is turn the plug on why am I going to download, makes sure I have a cover, etc etc I won't need to as I have other people doing the work for me. Yes ok if I run a small enterprise but again it would be about the skins and the operation. Version 9 and touchgenie, you need to rub that more than 3 times to make that work. I hate being honest but you should be able to click on the slider and it work, yet it doesn't. I can try and put it on Z and I don't get ZZ Top. I think I get Beyoncé. Commercial it will never be, home software it could be if you stopped thinking that commercial would happen, as it is not, and why not. I am almost drunk and tired so excuse my bluntness, but I have tried skintool to strip a lot of the crap that you are trying to emulate, e.g the charts the software cannot update itself when new albums are added, so why do I want to worry about creating text files pressing this and that button, when it would be good if the program does it automatically. If I add an album or 20,000 albums, I still have to click on config. I will finish there as a bit drunk and tired you are home brew software, never going to be commercial, apart from cheap operators, the ease of creating skins is not there, and to be honest the best skin made is black and blue for version 7 and it is version 9 now. Do I really need to say any more?

Regards

Mark

I have been running this for 10 years and have plenty of commercial operators, thanks for your thoughts.

I use it in a pub and have written batch files and vbs scripts to automate many of the things you mention. As for the skin tool and new skins, I just need to find the time to play.

The only thing I can think of that is truly missing is the online search but think this is something you would need to subscribe to.

Gaucho

Oh, and facebook have pi***d me off by removing the mobile email so I can't automate posting to the pubs facebook page anymore.
