karaoke probs

im getting runtime error 5 invalid call when i go to kareoke im new to these files and ive
checked them with another player and they work ok

Have you installed the required codec/driver? It's included in the setup as a zip file. You need to install that to allow the karaoke files to play.

You will also need them to be unzipped so the MP3 and CDG file reside in the folder rather than a zip.

yes ive done all that ive even tried it on my laptop and get the same results
-error 5- so must be something im doing wrong

before the error 5 code it would let me veiw each album
but when it came to select i got nothing no music or graphics

this is on both my juke unit and laptop

Do you have the CDG files associated with windows media player? Can you double click the CDG and it plays in media player?

That is the problem then. You need it so when you double click the CDG file it loads up and plays in media player. It will then work in freebox/E-touch without a problem. When you double click the file it should ask you what you want to open it with and if you plick mediaplayer and make sure it always uses that application your will be good to go.

strange wmp comes up with error like the codec missing
i have loaded the codec which comes with etouch is there
any other setting i need to enable

What version of WMP are you using and what os?

wmp11 and on my juke tinyxp rev9 and on the laptop xp pro

Yeah i have WMP11 here and XP And it works fine. Have you tried installing the K-Lite codec pack or re-installing the karaoke file from the ZIP?

yes barry been through all that so what im going to do is
over the weekend im going to do a fresh install for another
juke project so ill try again with a fresh clean os and ill let
you know-i know how them poor dudes who phone me up
from time to time when they cant get a divx movie to work
ill be less bossy with them lol

Well the key is getting it to work in WMP. Until you get that working it will never work in freebox.

ok barry it might be the files i put them on my mates and after loading the codec you supply they tested ok on wmp but etouch same error 5
i have put the files on a partion of the drive with front covers at 400 treated much like the mp3 albums clean and nothing embedded

any ideas
