Resizing the tab buttons (spin on this, new songs etc.)

Im redoing the tab buttons, but ran into a problem. When resizing then to match my image size 53x50
the size got to 3x5 and I am unable to change it to anything else... really frustrating.
Tried to sellect an existing button in that range, and hit 'same button size' but they now are (tab buttons) all 3x5. 
Help!
