You have a video per folder with a screen shot for the cover. This is how my sound leisure videos are organised, if you have the juke set to jump to play options on a single track then clicking the cover just gives you the play options. It works quite well.

Cool...looking forward to having my new video library in E-Touch...once I get this tagging & organization thing sorted out

steviaceevia

UPDATE:

That was it! The anti-piracy mechanism or whatever was the reason I couldn't tag..Just converted a few music videos with that app & now the tags all seem to stick that I did in Media Monkey 8) THANKS!

So now I'm getting somewhere....but why when I'm scrolling through the videos I added am I only seeing artist names? For instance I added 2 Depeche Mode videos, and artwork is showing, but both just say Depeche Mode & not the titles of songs as well...& can you not filter music videos by genre as u can music??

Mark Norville

How have you tagged your media and what with? I bet you haven't followed my guide and doing something else?

My directory structure at the moment changes all the time, but at the moment for music videos I have

Home Entertainment\Music Videos\Pop Music\One Direction\2011 - One Direction - Gotta Be You and then other directorys

I just know you are not following my guide, I just know it lol

MP3 Tag

1) Goto options (CTRL + O) or Tools > Options
2) Click on EXPORT and click the icon at the top right it has a star on the icon and says new when you hoover, now click this and give it a name, I call mine Music Video - eTouch
3) You now have a text file to edit you can remove everything you see. Copy and paste the following into the text file SAVE and then exit

<NonMP3Tag>
   <Artist>%artist%</Artist>
   <Title>%title%</Title>
   <Album>%title%</Album>
   <Band>%artist%</Band>
   <Track>%track%</Track>
   <Year>%year%</Year>
   <Genre>%genre%</Genre>
   <CommentTitle></CommentTitle>
   <CommentText></CommentText>
   <Seconds></Seconds>
   <Duration>%_length%</Duration>
</NonMP3Tag>

Make sure that your EXPORT FILE is called %year% - %artist% - %title%.mp4.tag click on ok and that will have saved, so now we can move on to tagging.

Ok we can right click and select MP3 Tag on the 2012 - Katy Perry - Part of me music video

Now click on CONVERT and then FILENAME > TAG or press ALT & 2

Now you should see %year% - %artist% - %title% preview of year 2012 artists Katy Perry title Part of Me click on ok

This will now have Added Part of Me to the title, Katy Perry to the Artist, so the only thing you need to worry about now is the genre if you wish, but you can leave it blank if it does not bother you. We can click on genre to the left and select a genre from the pull down box.

Once you have done this then click on SAVE TAG.

The final step is to export, you can either do this by clicking on FILE then EXPORT or by pressing CTRL & E

Select your Music Video eTouch or whatever file you named it and then click on ok. Job done.

You will now have two files not including any artwork. You will have 2012 - Katy Perry - Part Of Me.mp4 and also 2012 - Katy Perry - Part of Me.mp4.tag

I also create the directory as such because I am doing 1 song for 1 folder.

Load up Config 9 and make sure you are on Videos and pointed at your music videos press update library and that will now load and you will see the artist name, track title etc.

Word of warning : DO NOT CLICK ON GENERATE LIBRARY as that loads the titles but it misses out the artist for some reason.

OK, when I get some time I will try all that, but I just started converting some more of the videos I downloaded with the program you recommended and I noticed there is some quality loss in the files that are exported..blockiness appears on videos that weren't like that on the original versions...do you know of any program or method to just remove the DRM or whatever it is that's preventing me from tagging them? Sure there has to be such a thing out there

I'm not sure what program you are using and what you are doing? I download music videos all the time and unless they are very old ones I never have any blockiness and I play music videos on a 60 inch TV. I used to download 1080p but 720p is good enough.

On my Free You Tube Download it is Download Only (No Conversion)

MP4 - 720p High Definition prefer mp4 format.

Are you actually taking one file and then running a convertor or are you downloading the videos again?

Im batch converting the videos I already downloaded with the mp4 converter program you suggested and even linked me to, that's what I'm saying....That program is giving me noticeable quality loss after conversion

Mark Norville

Yeah sadly I cannot comment on the quality of the conversions because I have never used that program to convert video before. It was just a link that I found which does what you need it to do and that is convert one to the other, there are other programs out there some free and other pay for.

I did have a look yesterday for DRM removers but a lot of them seem to be pay for software and again because I do not use any of them I cannot say on quality, but as you are only removing the DRM it shouldn't affect the quality.

Here is a google search I'm not sure if you want to try something else https://www.google.co.uk/?gws_rd=ssl#q=wedm+convertor or https://www.google.co.uk/?gws_rd=ssl#q=webm+drm+removal

The guide that I done for downloading works, but obviously you need to use those programs and follow the steps that I have put down.

Regards

Mark

Well I finally gathered the patience to try the yt downloader you mentioned and downloading a couple thousand videos all over again with your method, but.......

It downloaded all the videos I put into it with NO SOUND  >:(....Im am SO close to just saying fuck this all & just accepting I will never have a decent interface to display & play my music videos...&  as great as it is for movies & TV shows, apparently Kodi doesn't have any music video NFO creator nor can it even list them by genre at all

I'm not sure why you have not got sound when you download, but I just done this quick video for you. I have V 3.2.63 build 913 and have just downloaded a music video now played it and it has sound. I am using a windows 7 machine on internet explorer, if I remember you are using windows 10 you do not want to use edge, but instead are using google chrome?

Who ever is saying that you cannot have genre for music video is an idiot.

hahaha wow! never expected video proof...thanks, that really lifted my spirits! lol...Well Ive asked around on a couple different sites & nearly everyone avoided an answer or explanation about showing genres for music videos or pretty much told me to frig off & use google...which I have done quite a bit over the past few weeks, and havent succesfully found much info about music videos in Kodi or tagging them at all really...

Im new to Kodi BTW & am using the Titan Skin..when I added a couple videos to test it out, I only saw option to organize by artist or album I.. so this further reinforced the belief it wasnt possible brought on by ppl answering almost all my other questions except the genre sort..so looks like I overlooked something too

Anyways, off to bed but when I get time guess I will try to tackle this all over again & yes I am using Windows 10..maybe Ill search for another YT downloader that will let me tag & then follow everything else in your tutotrial....

Really appreciate the time uve took to help me out man, its been really frustrating getting no answers & running into so many issues trying to get this video library going...

UPDATE: forgot to mention I was using Firefox and downloading as mkvs which appeared to be the format on Youtube....I just used Edge, downloaded videos as MKV & also using the convert to mp4 option & still, no sound whatsoever

Yep, tried that at one point too

Mark Norville

You should be downloading as MP4 not MKV that is probably where you are going wrong, I will do a quick video on how to adjust your settings for you tube downloader.

Switch to full screen to get a better resolution, but not many options you need to change from default settings

Part 1 : You Tube Downloader

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1Qn4U-zpCc&feature=youtu.be

Part 2 : MP3 Tag and import

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2c-C0tTaEx8&feature=youtu.be

Part 2 is a bit longer than I wanted as some things never worked how I wanted and some programs decided to go slow.

The last part of the video was importing into eTouch and also Kodi.

Hopefully this helps and shows that it can be done, once you have followed the guide step by step and got the correct settings in then it is very easy and quick.
