hi has any one done  Vertical skin  for etouch , of not how would i go about creating one ,

thanks in advance stu

Hi Stu,

Yes some skins have been created for vertical mode, but it all depends on the resolution really.

768 x 1360 has been about twice I think.

However I am working on a 768 x 1366 as my monitor tells me that is the optimal resolution for my monitor.

A lot of the skins available are for life time supporters, rather than mere mortals such as you or I.

However skinning is reasonably easy, and if you have the skills, then I would recommend that you give skinning a go, it is quite fun in a sad way, and more rewarding as you get the skin that you want.

Regards

Mark

There are two vertical skins that I know of  that are available. They are both based on the TouchGenie skin and are available for versions 9 & 10 of E-Touch.
To get them you need to go to the Private Skins section of this forum and download them.

As for creating you own, you will need to use the Skin Tool bundled with E-Touch and build it in there.
Also, I believe Mark is working on a vertical skin at the moment as well, whether he will make that available for everyone, I don't know.

There could be other vertical skins around as well, I'm sure others will let you know if there is.

Kind Regards

Tel.

Edit - Mark replied to you whilst I was writing the above :D

Actually I am creating THE skin. A skin that good, even I am impressed by it.

I just need to wait for my file transfers as I got my new 3 tb hard drive today, so just transferring all the music and video libraries and then I am up and running.

At least then I have a database to work with but then I have hit a small snag in what I want to do, I might be able to find a way to work around it, but I wish that you could have transparent backgrounds as at the moment I want something on screen, I have a background image but I want some icons up, but the white of the background of that screen is showing on the background which is not good for me.

Anyway shall finish here, but this is THE skin, trust me ;)

I concur with what Mark says, it might be best to upgrade to the latest version, especially if you hit any snags whilst building your new skin.

I'm sure if you private message Barry (Barcrest), he would probably sort you an upgrade deal.

V10 is where it is at. The skin creation has changed a lot since v8 and if you make one for v8 you will end up making it again for v10 due to the use of transparent png files.
