Still using the latest version and after playing some songs for some reason next time I use the program it adds a ? to the artists name from the song that was played and then what happens is it's considered a various album because the artist name is different on just one song so I have to go back and change the tag and delete the ? and then rebuild the library. Any ideas on why it does that?

Aussie-Adam

Do you use MP3Tag to sort out the information inside the MP3's doing an album at a time ?

Sounds like an issue in the tagging

Sparky23

The tags are all correct it always happens when a song has been played and then the next time I use the jukebox some of the songs that were played the last time show up with a ? next to the artists name and it's only the song that was played that get's messed up.

Is it anMP3 file? The program shouldn't be messing with the MP3 Tags. The only tags it writes to is the non mp3 ones. Do you have a setting in Windows media player to auto get the tag info? I would suggest this is what is changing the tags.

Yes they are all mp3s I don't know about the media player I will look at that when I get home. I'm just using XP on the jukebox if that makes a difference.

Play a track in media player and see if it amends the tag data, if so then that is your issue. I assume you are using the latest release.

Ok I will try that later I did uncheck all of the options in media player but after playing the jukebox a few times I still end up with "?" or a "c" after the artists name of the song played the last time it was played on certain albums not everyone and I am using the latest version.

Barcrest

Is it creating a .tag file in that folder or is the TAG specifically being editted?

Maybe share some screenshots of the folder showing the files  ?

Sparky23

No it's adding a ? or some other symbol to the mp3 tag itself so I go in and change it back to what it's supposed to be and rebuild the library. I will send some pictures but the file size is too large it says.

Barcrest

So does the tag get changed if you play the mp3 in windows media player?

No I played a few last night and the tags stayed the same.

Barcrest

Is it the ID3V2 tag that is getting changed? Are you V1 andV2 tags synced?

I just fixed all the error tags and rebuilt the library again but I did find one I missed and the id3v2 tag was the one messed up and yes both tags are synced up I've spent a lot of time making sure they are all correct. I don't have the jukebox connected to the internet if that makes a difference?
