This is not so much a problem as it is an aesthetic concern.
I have eliminated some buttons on the main screen.

One for example is the karaoke button...not there is a big space between the 'music' and 'video' buttons.

Same on the left side...I have left 'search' 'queue' and 'playlist' but since some were eliminated they spaced apart as well.

Is there any way to get the remaining buttons to group together so it looks better? With the missing buttons it looks like the remaining ones were just thrown on the screen at random.

Or is this something I would have to try to do myself with the skin editor?

just go into skin tool and move them, then save it

Yes as sarge said that is the only. Making the skins dynamic really messes with the skintool which is why i didn't do it that way.
