Skin Support / Skin function and label defini...
Last post by fb28 - August 14, 2025, 06:15:43 AM
Hi - newbee here... I've looked all over the freebox site, and searched on-line in general. Is there a
list somewhere of what the label numbers are and what the jukebox s/w recognizes what functions they
activate? I assume that the labels are not just static text - they have some functionality. Same for
the jukebox controls/functions. Is there a list of what the various functions are, the name and
action of the function, and what/how to associate a button to it? How about a slider control... Like
how to define its size, shape, feedback (like one of the letters changing font or loading a image
if that letter is "hot" (i.e. selected)? It seems that there is a lot of functionality and flexibility
in the jukebox program, but nothing really documented on how to use or implement it. The Skin for
Dummys was a good start, but a lot more detail would really help a new designer.   Thanks for listening...

can it work with pulse or serial?
Also wondering if an Android or IOS app can be used to select songs

Any coin validated that can send a key press to the software will work. There is USB support for a mars bill adapter but i was only given one to test and not sure if that code works with all of these or just that specific one.

Pulse or serial is the same, i used a USB Keyboard adapter used for arcade machine buttons to interface a coin mech using pulse.

There was a mobile app that Coffee had coded but i don't think it was ever made public. I never received a version of it.

Hi,

the current demo is fully featured just that it will enable songs to played when there are no credit letting them go into negative values. There is also a play limit to how long it will run for, 15 minutes. Aside from those limitations everything is there. If you get it all set up with the demo it just a case of installing the full version over the top and activating with your key.

Anything you suggest could be looked it and bugs reported fixed up.

NOTE: The demo is quite a few versions old now. I would suggest playing with the demo and if you see potential get a lifetime key so you can play with the current beta. The lifetime licence only differs from the commercial one in that you can still go into negative credits.

I am sure i did implement a slider for the this screen but I am not sure it is operational. I will take a look and see what is there and if it is was disabled or removed re-instate it in the next beta.

General Discussion / Operating vintage jukeboxes in...
Last post by JukeboxTyler - July 10, 2025, 07:20:30 PM
Greetings and salutations,

A quick intro as this is my first post.

Im in the jukebox bussiness up in Canada. We do retail and we operate some vintage equipment on location here. I have been shopping around for a commercial solution to retrofit some of our equipment. Allot of what is out there hasnt seen an update in many years. Im encouraged to see that this Forum still seems reasonably active.

I have 2 usage scenarios for the equipment that we put on location.

1st is the standard jukebox operators model where its pay to play. E-jukebox seems to have that covered.

The second usage scenario is a remotely managed unit where we install a jukebox at a location that wants it on free play and we can make playlist updates and make other changes without needing to go on site.

Is there a way to demo the commercial version of the software to see if we can make it work out of the box? Also if we wanted certain features or adjustments implemented would you be willing to work with us?

I think the first step would be to demo the commercial version to get a feel for it.

Thanks very much
