I'm new to this product.

I downloaded V10 demo and immediately the Config DB software ran.  I was completely overwhelmed by the many choices with seemingly no documentation as to how to use them.  I went on to these forums and searched and searched... not much found.   Eventually I found a link to an old Youtube video where someone with a bad microphone walked through how he got the Config DB software going. That helped a bit, but many questions remain.  Why not have some documentation as to how to set up and use the software?

Bad microphone sounds a bit like me then if you mean https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXDuXwPkIjI&t=15s

I could actually make this better now, and make it a lot shorter as well and put it into sections, I just done that off the fly as someone needed help quickly.

I do agree with you, that something needs to be addressed regarding documentation, but sadly sometimes people do not want to read a lot of information, and sometimes often just ask questions.

Barry would have to be the one that makes changes in relation to documentation though.

I am now retired from the jukebox scene. I still visit from time to time and will help if I can, but apart from that. I am no longer a slave to downloading and tagging.

Does the included documentation not cover this?

LoL you are joking you have no documentation when you download the demo version, so people are installing into c:\program files and not running as admin for a start.

Secondly after installation the only documentation is for skin tool, nothing else is there.

I am just playing around a minute, so give me a couple of hours if not less, then I shall have something for install.

I just had a quick play and done this

Nice!  That is simple and well done.  However, it just covers the first part.  The Config process is extremely unclear as to what one should do:

Simple vs Advanced -- Which one to pick based on what criteria?

Assuming Advanced mode
-----------------------------

The drive box and the folder box -- Are these working together?  Are these picking the incoming files locations or are the picking the database location?  Does the folder selection even do anything (I picked a specific folder, but the program scanned the whole drive)

Grab artist info from AudioDB -- what info are we referring to here?

Generate image thumbnails -- what is this?

Copy and rename first cover found -- what is this?

Source cover name, thumbnail name, new size, do not overwrite thumbnails -- what are all of these?

Generate Library vs Update Library -- which should I be picking based on what criteria?

I'm sure there are more questions once I understand the above, but that's what I wondering about initially.

Hang on man I can only do so much in a day lol

I have already broke my fooking computer because of you lol

I just installed that avast however, I shall carry that story in about the anti virus post you made.

To answer your questions

1) drive and folder box? Not sure what you mean by that

2) grab artist info - says what it is on the tin, it grabs posters, fanart, biographies etc

3) Copy and rename first file - again says pretty much as I have said before about if you have 1.jpg, back.jpg, cover.jpg then it will select the first one, which will be 1.jpg in this example

4) I will try and do another video tomorrow

I know it is not your fault, obviously, you do have a lot of questions, but it is always better to ask one at a time, and not on multiple threads, as I am trying to answer you on one post, then something else and multiple points.

It is a slow learning curve for this, trust me I tried it and gave up, however hand on heart, it is the best software you can buy on the market, and I have brought the lot of them.

The skin tool and the price that makes this the best on the market, if you want an authentic pub jukebox experience.
